Throughout life, we all experience our highs and lows. There are some moments that are going to be tougher than us and we may struggle to cope or get through them, but eventually we will.
However, it's always helpful to give ourselves a little pep talk every now and again; especially if we're facing a rough scenario. Perhaps you're experiencing the loss of a loved one, a break up, work stress, or something else that's making you feel not quite like yourself.
Whatever it is that you're experiencing, there's no shame in boosting your own self-confidence by reminding yourself of all the reasons you're amazing. In times of struggle, we need to be reassured that we still have a lot to offer and that everything is going okay. This does not make us weak. If anything, recognizing that you're in a tough spot and trying to move forward is the strongest action you can take.
Here are 7 things you should remind yourself of when times get tough:

1. This Is Normal
There's some comfort in knowing that you're not the only person who has ever or will ever go through a rough patch. Everyone at some point another will feel the way you're feeling. While we never wish bad things on others, there's some solidarity in knowing that other people have overcome their struggle, and so will you.
2. You Will Make It Through This
It's important to remind yourself that bad times don't last forever. It definitely may feel like an eternity, but eventually it will come to an end. You will make it through this struggle. It seems impossible at some moments but at others it will seem feasible. You will overcome the tough times only to be presented with happiness and opportunity.
3. You Have People Who Love You
Sometimes it's easy to feel like you're all alone in this battle, but more likely than not, you have a team of people who love. You either have family, friends or a significant other who will be there for you to listen, talk or just offer embracing arms.
You are not alone, so remind yourself that it's okay to lean on other people during this time. They're there for you and want to help you.
4. This Will Make You Stronger
You know that saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." It could not be more accurate for this time. You feel like you have been fighting an impossible fight, but when you come out on the other side you will feel like a warrior.
5. It's Okay To Feel Sad or Angry
Please don't feel like you have to hold all of these emotions in. The last thing you should be doing right now is being considerate of how other people will react to your feelings. Remind yourself that you are the one dealing with something heavy, and you're allowed to react.
It's okay to feel sad, angry or confused, but just let yourself feel those emotions. Coping with those feelings can sometimes be half the battle.
6. You're Allowed To Be Selfish
You may be dealing with something that requires a great deal of your time and energy, but don't forget that you're only human. You need a break sometimes, and you deserve some time to be selfish. You want to be able to figure out what works for you in terms of dealing with a specific situation. So don't be afraid to give yourself a few hours a day to get some space and relax.
7. You Can Conquer The World
At the present moment you may not feel like you're conquering anything. In fact, you may feel like you're feeling a whole lot of loss, and this is also okay. Remind yourself that this is only temporary, and you're a fighter. You've conquered a great deal of things in your life thus far, and this time won't be any different.
Remember that you're mentally strong and capable of dealing with whatever life throws your way, even when it's incredibly painful. It can be helpful to reminisce on past scenarios where you were brave, courageous, or a leader. This can help remind yourself that you are incredible. You have faced storms before, and you will face it again. You will conquer this.
