1. Remember The Big Picture
What was the overall goal that you set for 2025? Whatever it was, you did create it because you knew the results would be nothing but beneficial to yourself. Sure, sometimes achieving those goals isn't always fun, but it can help to remind yourself that hard work pays off.
2. Reflect On The Original Purpose
Remind yourself why you created the resolution in the first place. It had to have originated from a place that really felt like this was an important objective, so it most likely is for the greater good.
Look back on the previous year and imagine what life would have been like if you had implemented this goal earlier. If you feel like you would have seen good things, this can be a reminder in itself to create a more improved you in 2025.
3. Track Your Progress
Regardless of your objectives, write down your own progress. It can be as simple as writing it on a piece of paper, sticky note or blogging about it online. You're completely in charge. Watching yourself reach milestones, no matter how small, is a great deal of motivation in itself. It reminds us that even the baby steps get us closer to our goals.
4. Set Milestones Not Just One Goal
While the main purpose of your resolution is one overarching goal, try making things less overwhelming by creating smaller milestones in between your final objective. By setting smaller targets inside the big target, you'll feel more able to take on the challenge.
5. Support System
Let your friends or family or both in on your newly set goals. If you open up about how you have a target goal for yourself but you're struggling and could really use some support, they'll be there for you.
These are people who love and want the best for you, so letting them in on something that's challenging you is a great way for them to know you need all the support you can get. I guarantee if you tell them to give you words of encouragement every now and then, they will be there for you the whole way; checking in, and motivating you.
6. Online Forums
It may sound a little unconventional but you can find so many people dealing with similar goals and struggles online. There are a ton of sites that are specifically just spaces for people to trade advice for achieving their objectives, all you have to do is Google it.
Reading about other's experiences with the same goals and challenges can provide some great insight and offer new ways to tackle your goals that you may not have thought about previously.
7. Self-Help Books
Google is your trusty side-kick in almost all of this, but there are some great self-help books online that you can order, and there's no shame in purchasing these either. The authors of these books genuinely want to help others, just make sure you research the author a bit before purchasing so you can be positive the book is good-intentioned.
8. Write Down The Victories
No matter how small, write down something you've accomplished each day. It doesn't matter if it seems trivial, write it down. Looking back on these types of things can remind us that we're awesome, which is enough motivation in itself to want to conquer our challenges.
9. Journal It
Keeping a diary or journal can also be really helpful at this stage in your life. We definitely have our highs and lows and it's nice to have a safe place to put those thoughts into. Writing down why we feel sad, happy, angry etc. can help put things into perspective and also relieve some built up anxiety.
10. The Finish Line
Think about what it will actually feel like when you reach the final goal. You will have come so far, and done so much all because you wanted to make a change. Reaching or achieving a resolution of any kind makes us feel strong and empowered and those are feelings you deserve. Remind yourself what it will feel like when you cross the finish line.
